What Can I Do?

  • Read Richard Flanagan's book Toxic: The Rotting Underbelly of the Tasmanian Salmon Industry
  • Don't just "not order" salmon: tell the restauranteur why you are not ordering salmon
  • Write to politicians and tell them you support reform
  • Write to the Tasmanian Salmonid Growers Association and tell them to get out of the sea
  • Place the book Toxic on the table at a restaurant or on your desk at work: let it speak for you
  • Join the Tasmanian Alliance for Marine Protection (TAMP) or Environment Tasmania (ET)
  • Tell your friends how you feel about the salmon industry: word of mouth is important
  • Engage in fair and respectful dialogue with others who may hold different views
  • If your superannuation fund has salmon stocks, formally request that it divest
  • Donate time or money
